• Open our keyboard tester and press the physical keys on your Chromebook keyboard. Same works for your desktop keyboards.
• As you press your physical keys, check if they light up green on the virtual keyboard.
• The keys that don’t light up could be faulty keys.
• We recommend you press multiple keys simultaneously to see if they work.

If our virtual keyboard responds instantly as you press the physical keys, your keyboard is fine. Any delay or no response indicates a possible faulty keyboard.

If you are using a windows keyboard with your Chromebook, the windows key between the Ctrl and Alt keys works as the Search or Launcher key.

• Plug in your microphones and click the test button.
• Speak on your microphone. If you see sound waves forming, your microphone is working.
• Click Yes/No based on test results.

• Put your speaker on volume.
• If you can hear the playback after clicking the test button, your speaker is working.
• Click Yes/No based on test results.

• Give webcam access to the test tool.
• Your webcam is working if it shows your live video feed.
• Click Yes/No based on test results.

Click ‘generate report’ after completing your Chromebook diagnosis. Tag your asset ID (device number, serial number, etc.) to the report and download PDF or print a copy. Your microphone, speaker, and webcam results will also display on the test report. The document will help record and track your asset’s condition.
