With the Holidays approaching, we here at AdminRemix have been getting things ready to help make asset management during this time of year easier. Here is what we have been working on for the last month, and a few extra tips to help you manage your IT fleet.
New Releases
Assign assets that are not checked out to help desk ticket
One of the biggest asks that we have received on our Help Desk add-on has been the ability to assign assets to help desk tickets before closing out the tickets. This was added to the system to help streamline the help desk ticket process. This combined with our email-to-ticket option will help speed up the process of managing all requests to your help desk.
Customized Dashboards are now available
As we continue to work and make our AssetRemix asset management and help desk solution more efficient for our clients, we have released the ability to customize the dashboards for both the asset management and help desk sections. This allows you to move the widgets around, and add in different reporting numbers that you would like to see displayed. You can check out more information on this on our documentation page.

Why you need to powerwash your Chromebooks
With winter break approaching, school districts tend to have a lot of maintenance to catch up on with their technology fleets. While the students and staff, are out of the buildings, running a half-year power wash on your ChromeOS devices can help get your IT assets back in top shape. This will allow your district to have all of the devices back to factory settings and without any of the cookies and other things that can start to slow down the devices. Streamline you asset tracking with barcodes
On a similar note to the above article references, taking time over breaks to double-check the barcodes on your asset is a great way to make sure your assets are ready to go. As we all know, students, and staff, have a tendency to mess with various things while using their computers, laptops, and such. One of the biggest issues we had to deal with was the asset tags being peeled off of devices. Having an asset management software that lets you print out asset tags at any time can be a real lifesaver while performing work over extended breaks.
